The List

heywilma: ([ lom ] the world kicks when he's down)
Some things on my shelf that I need to read/watch at one point. I have a habit of buying things, I realise that. Hooboy.

In alphabetical order: DVDs )

In no particular order: Books )

In other news, the new MacBook Pro is out. As far as I can tell, the 13-inch version has exactly the same specs and features (with an additional SD card slot) as my machine, the only difference being that it is about $200 cheaper. Sigh, whatever, I'm moving on... onto saving for a decent camera, for one.

Previously,

6. A: You are amazingly self-assured, has anyone ever told you that?
B: I tell myself that every day, actually.
Is 10 Things I Hate About You

7. I don't want to rob banks for the rest of my life! The stress level is just too damn high.
Is Bandits

9. Hey baby, what say we trip the light fantastic? Just you and me.
Is Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy

12. If I lose my magic, that means I've lost absolutely everything.
Is Kiki's Delivery Service

Speaking of movies, I will attempt to watch 100 of them this year. New ones, as in ones I've never seen before. So far, the list is 13 however many long.

100 movies in 2008 )
heywilma: (fandom. california mountain snake)
1. Harper's Bazaar does not deserve my patronage, when such a ridiculous letter could become "Letter of the Month". However, their magazine gives out free stuff, which I cannot say no to. >.>

2. Apparently there is a Rapunzel movie in the works. The art (especially this one) reminds me of Studio Ghibli's stuff. This, however, is simply gorgeous.

3. We went to a Japanese restaurant for Mother's Day, and even though the waitress boasted that everything there was "authentically Japanese", they put sundried tomatoes in the seaweed salad. Somehow, I don't think sundried tomatoes are very Japanese.

4. I want to go home and watch Ugly Betty, but they're pre-de-termiting (that is, preemptively destroying termites) my house, and won't be finished any time soon.

5. I need to move some files to my external harddrive and delete them from my computer because the space is disappearing at an usually fast pace. >.>

6. Even though I'm pretty on top of my assignments for now, my hand is treatening to twitch and install The Sims 2 because of my complete lack of self-control, and that would be unbelievably disastrous.

7. It's such a pity that it's gotten really cold, because for some reason I really want to go swimming.

8. I will finish The Amber Spyglass before the end of the week.

9. So sleep deprived.

10. I really like this icon. Now I want to watch Kill Bill again. >.>
heywilma: (Bunny; my house is for rent)
Dude. I’m getting older faster than I thought I would. My brain is working slower. There are just a lot of things to do and the gears are taking its sweet time in processing them.

Now for a list!

  • DOSSIER. Try to word it so that the markers will actually understand what you’re trying to say. I suck at that, because I write long and winded.

  • COMPARISON OF NEWSPAPERS. Because it’s due soon, too.
  • CML, bitch. I hate maths.
  • READ THE BLOODY TEXTBOOKS
  • PHOTOCOPY PAGES
  • Do all the HTML shazams I’ve dotted down on this notebook of mine. (Code for a navigational frame; Java Script for “Last Updated” message, ‘cause the one they gave us do not work; scans of Brotherhood members, because I am doing an X-Men fansite)

  • Ask the lecturer/tutor whether I’m actually allowed to have a pure fansite, pseudo-Government page style. I’d better be, ‘cause I’ve already done half the pages >.>

  • Steal Find and borrow the .xls files on the school’s server.
  • Not there. Will have to borrow someone's CD.
  • Check for job postings again.

  • Email Shannon Molly RE: webzine writer.

  • RP things.
  • Upload icontest entries.

  • I hate it when lists exceed 4 dot points.

Now for something completely different. )

Also, whenever I see upturned collars now I just have this urge of flipping them down.

    GIP!

Hehe. It goes with the wallpaper.

    To-Do List
  • Read chp. 2 - 4 of Statistics for Managers
  • Read chp. 1 - 3 of Information Systems
  • GET KAT SOMETHING.

  • Do tutorial questions for ECON1310
  • Do tutorial prep for MGTS1201
  • Write media log; start dossier
  • Make more Supernatural icons.

  • GET VIDEOTAPE.
  • Check CareerHub + UQU.
  • Do chores.

  • READ NORTHERN LIGHTS DAMN IT. I keep on getting distracted.
  • heywilma: (Default)
So! Dot points. Idea not original, instead sploinked from [livejournal.com profile] slysima...

  • Got [livejournal.com profile] magneticgal's postcard! Wheee! Thank you Jory! My second postcard ever. I feel so loved.
  • I keep on getting the people in my flists confused. Yes. I r teh smrt.
  • Sent [livejournal.com profile] hyelle_narmo's letter yesterday. The guy who sold me the stamp at the post office was really cute.
  • Mum went to this work/friends gathering last night, entered the raffle, and won a T-shirt and a XXXX hat. I stole the hat.
  • Wrote a Psylocke drabble. Except it came with some background information, and the background information is nearly as long as the drabble itself. Tsk.
  • That's all, folks.

  • The Social Class Meme Thing )
    heywilma: (Default)
Got everything for Japan after school yesterday. Went completely mad and bought:

  • Batteries. 12 pack, v. heavy. In hindsight, perhaps the 8 pack ones would’ve been better.
  • Suitcase. Black and lightweight (at least, lightweight until I tossed the batteries in) and wheely. Everything you need in a suitcase. And it was on sale. Bargain!
  • Telecard. Letter arrived today with my PIN, and the actual thing will be coming in a few days.
  • Toothpaste. It was one of those fancy ones of the pressy persuasion (as opposed to the squeasy type). Reminiscent of the one I took on grade 3 camp in England.
  • Sunscreen. I highly doubted that the $9 one was better than the $5 one, but eh, mum insisted.
  • Anti-persperant. Fancy Dove one with ‘inbuilt moisturiser’, apparently.
  • Panadol. Generally I never used (or needed, really) pain relievers of any kind, but y’know, just in case.
  • Films. Including the one already in the camera, I have upped the number of films to a healthy 7. 24x7=168 photos. That’ll be enough, I reckon.
  • Money. Put in an order at the local ANZ branch, and the cash will be coming some time next week.

  • Will start packing next week. I have no idea what clothes to pack- I have a shortage of shorts because I avoid buying any kind of short pants. And, yeah.

    SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

In other news, I have finished all of my Japanese and English assessments. And on the way home I nearly got hit by a car.

    UQ open day

    Aug. 1st, 2004 12:12 pm
    heywilma: (Smile)
It was fun. Sort of. More informative, really. (I am currently typing with one hand as the other is busy shovelling chocolate biscuits into my mouth. Which has nothing to do with this post whatsoever. But oh well.)

Things I did at UQ open day:

    1. Obtained a lot of pamphlets and booklets. Which are made of very good quality paper and is heavy to carry.

    2. Said hi to people I knew.

    3. Said hi to people my dad knew.

    4. Listened to a university professor drone.

    5. Looked at bacteria in a microscope.

    6. Touched a shark. Dead, of course. (I meant the shark was dead, not me.)

    7. Observed the mating rituals of a mantis.

    8. Got helium balloons. (My life is now complete) And a helium filled rubber glove. It was cute until it killed itself on a branch. Much mourning.

    9. Ate a lollipop. Y'know one of the free ones they have at stalls.

    10. Got a biodegradable plastic bag with stuff in it. It was like, wow, biodegradability!

    11. Watched a robot not run into things.

So yeah. It was very eventful, I think. And the shark skin/scale was freaky.

I am also in love with my biodegradable plastic bag. I think it's very spiffy.

And when I get home, I'm going to inhale some helium.

[livejournal.com profile] ittykat: a spiffy fluffy scarve, and a Whitlams CD.

Lucy: A Picnic bar. Mmmmmm... chocolate...

And of course, I forgot about Julian the last time I posted...

Julian: A hug and half of a broken gel pen. I feel so privilaged.

I forgot to say 'Happy Birthday' to Sonja on the weekend, so...

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONJA!!!
    heywilma: (Default)
What I got from my birthday:

Parents: $50 and dinner. Mmmmmm, Thai...

[livejournal.com profile] ittykat: Nothing yet. Coming on Monday

Katherine and Tegan: Cute teddy, lollies, aromatherapy body balm

    [livejournal.com profile] slysima: A leaf.

Sonja: Errr... stuff... and money! (Impending message: you're legal to shag now. Make the most of it.)

Susanne: Sticky things and letter things (v. cute)

Amanda, Joyce and Wynne: bath stuff. Kind of sending a message of 'Zenni, you smell. Take a bath'

Karrie: A really cute Tarepanda balancing beam thing.

    Anne: Photo frame

    [livejournal.com profile] el_coco: A post.

Wow. Just what I always wanted. You guys are the best!
