"On the 22nd of April 2006, Summer stated in an Australian convention that she was aware of the 'secret' of the character Shepherd Book from the series Firefly. This has encouraged further speculation of a possible sequel to Serenity."

That, would be totally awesome. But you know what would be awesomer? If Firefly was picked up where it left off, and Serenity was deemed an alternate ending. I find it strange how River seemed normal in Objects In Space, but sort of reverts in the Big Damn Movie. I know her medicine is erratic, but still.

Another thing is that the BDM seemed to lose some of the feel of the series. Obviously they had to accomodate for newcomers and movie constraints, but a lot of the action scenes seemed gratuitous. There's just too much story to be told in one not-quite-2-hour movie.

Glee, because it is free comic book day tomorrow.

*SPOILERS!*
putting in my 2 cents about the stuff you said before...it was annoying they stepped back from having River all accepted into the crew in Objects in Space for the movie. And the movie definately had a more hitech traditional scifi feel in parts, i think. Which is a breakaway from the original show's feel. Serenity is a lot bigger ... just compare the crew hallway...the original set was dismantled after the series was cancelled. Bigger budget as well I guess.

I liked that we heard a lot of backstory...but it was so annoying that they decided to kill a few characters...Book's backstory is one thing but can you imagine all they could have done with Zoe and Wash? No doubt there would be painful fights and making ups but imagine if Zoe got pregnant? How awesome would it be exploring that whole story :P. I really hope we get a movie/tv series that shows us more character development rather than just tying up as many loose ends as possible which is what I feel Serenity did.

I don't think we'll ever get the movie as an alternate ending unfortunately. It's a nice thought though.

We have to see something else in the universe though...but it'll be in 2 or 3 years I think coz of Joss working on Wonder Woman. I'm sure the crew'll all come together when (not if ) he writes something.

The BDM loses a lot of the feel from the series because they had to switch studios (Fox to Universal), so they couldn't use any of the more proprietary terms and aspects of the series we all know and love.

No blue hand people. No Blue Sun. No mention that Serenity is a Firefly class vessel, etc. No BADGER! *wail* Fanty and Mingo were a poor, poor substitute.

Lots of things were missing from that movie - most of it was what made the show so damned good.

But yeah, I'm with you.
