Yep. Now, for that "real" update.

So. Went to city with two different groups of people on two consecutive days, but ending up doing basically the same thing: looking for formal dresses. Well, they were looking for formal dresses- I was looking for shoes. It suddenly stuck me, how expensive clothes really were. I'm just mostly used to the cheap stuff (but still decent quality) you can get at Target, or TEMT, my new favourite store. But $200 odd for a flimsy singlet? I don't think so.

Lucy had her eye on this cute dress. It suited her, but it was overpriced, as usual. I'm glad that I got my dress while it was on sale.


That was quite possibly the funniest line in the entire movie, although, yeah, not meant to be a funny movie, but still. The little kid is still as creepy as ever- wait no, he's even more creepy this time around, the reason will of course be revealed if you see it, but just a warning.

The start of the movie involves a lot of shots of the ocean, which made me dizzy watching it, but y'know, it had to be there for all the foreshadowing.

The real start to the movie had a guy giving his girlfriend a tape- we all know what that means- and practically forcing her to watch it just so the curse can be passed on and he wouldn't die. That particular scene made a couple of people around me- myself included- go, "what a bastard!" In the end, it'll all be set right, but the girl will be traumatised for life. Poor her.

And then the film progresses at a very slow pace, and everything is pretty much forgetable.

The scares are mostly coming from Samara, obviously. IMO, they were rather tame, and mostly depended on the element of surprise, which is why you wouldn't watch this movie twice. Quite a lot of people were completely freaked out, and on several occasions, they actually screamed. Pfft.

Climax was very satisfying, and it's where 'I'm not your fucking mommy!' occurred. I got a good laugh out of that. The last 5 minutes, though, was just pretty much a downer after the adrenaline rush.

The score was cool.

For the $5.70 I paid to see this movie, I'd say it was worth about $4.

Yep. I'm no movie critic, that's for sure.

considering ive seen the jap ring 1 and 2...
and the ring wasnt even so great
too much explaining and sfx and the story...
its so sad...it was directed by the greatest jap horror director of all time hideo nakata...so sad...

I should've watched Ring when it was on SBS... apparently they change a lot of things with the English version?

and watch it in the dark...
