1. So [livejournal.com profile] ringlunatic linked to this, AND NOW I CAN'T UNSEE IT. If I were able to, I'd totally vote for Michael Palin.

2. Don't want to jinx it, which is why I never talk about employment until I get it - I may potentially have a Christmas job with Myer, if I could just not slack off and sign up for an interview.

3. You know Psych is a fantastic show, when they manage to work Nancy Drew fanfiction into a line.

4. Season 4 finale of Dr Who, finally watched it last night. IT WAS EPIC. However, I personally am a little sick of the epic finales, and for once it'll be nice if it could be a small quirky episode that doesn't involve daleks/robotic murderers that are driven by an internal sentient creature.

See, browsing [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets, and considering the large number of Who fans there, I was bound to be spoiled, so I knew what was coming. I hated how Rose everyone was able to get their happy ending except for Donna (that scene in the TARDIS? Heartbreaking), but I kind of loved it at the same time, because this really is what you look for in a story. I'm totally convinced that although Ten did save Donna's life, he did it for selfish reasons, even if he believes he didn't. The ambiguity really is delicious.

I'm struck by the fancy to write fic, but the Who fandom is fucking scary.

Spoilers for finale s4 Doctor Who

Don't get spoiled for Doctor Who :( it's the worst thing ever. I had no idea Rose was coming back season 4 and I literally started 'omg-ing' aloud at the computer screen after I watched the first ep. It was so worth avoiding the fandom.

Yeah, it was pretty epic ><. I wonder where they'll go next, with the loose ends and Moffat and all. My speculations for the future include... Jenny coming back, something on Tardis creation/birth...what the shit was on Midnight?? Who was it with the hand grabbing the Master's ring at the end of S3?? Lol. Woo.

Write fic! I won't bite your head off :D I'd love to read some Doctor Who fic :D :D :D.

I love the ambiguity too...there's so much of that, in his 'saving' of River Song as well...so she's trapped in a computer forever and never allowed to die?? Happy ending whut??? Same with the Rose ending, so bittersweet, so perfectly satisfyingly unsatisfying. What's the best way to leave true love unrequited? That right there, what you did with the two doctors and stuff.

I watched the start of Psych, but never got stuck into it. Hrm, we should have another first episodes movie night :D I could show you the sexy hilarity that is true blood! (except it's a bit /too/ sexed up in the first ep, lol).

Spoilers here also.

I found out about Rose beforehand too >.> though that was my own fault because it was clearly marked as a spoiler and I was all, 'psh it couldn't be that bad since everyone else you care about is off doing other stuff'. I GUESS YOU SHOWED ME, SPOILER.

I feel Jenny's definitely going to show up at one point or another, but I really hope she tones down the eye make-up this time. I don't really see her as a regular companion, though, but then I do like surprises :D Tardis lore would be AWESOME and I would worship the ground of whoever writes it though tbh who else but Moffat could do it? While watching Midnight for some reason I totally though the episode was a two-parter and thought it could have a happy ending >.> And now I've completely forgotten about the hand and the ring though I had the vague feeling that it was the Master's wife's?

See the River Song thing I think is slightly less pickle-y than Donna's thing? Because River herself didn't want to die, she had no choice in the matter, since she 1) needed the timeline to be right and 2) obviously didn't want the Doctor to die for her own reasons. The fact that she and her friends did live on, and had very good lives, despite it being, y'know, not real, it was the only thing they could get.

Donna, on the other hand, didn't want her memories to be taken. She had very serious self-esteem issues, and the only time she felt so completely sure of herself was when her part-Timelord...ness surfaced. She'd rather live out the rest of her very short life doing brilliant things with the Doctor than go back to what she was. The Doctor changed her mind without her permission, so she went back to being the woman she hated being. And the Doctor, although he did what he did to save Donna's life, imo did it out of selfish reasons: he didn't want to watch her die, which is fair, but he didn't want to watch her die, meaning that he was protecting himself from the pain.

Right after I watched it and the above occurred to me, I was all, "omg must form fiction o.o"

Psych actually is slightly similar to Dr Who in the way that both protagonists are way dramatic. There is a point about how convenient the clues are just casually distributed about for Shawn to find, but I guess that's no different from any other crime shows. Plus, it's funny :D

Lol is First Blood that one with the blond Anna Paquin?

Yeah, but they were really ooold hands with red nails...like drag-queen hands. And they had a ring/bracelet/something on it with the timelordy symbols. It's another timelord who needs to look at their own 'watch' to remember who they are or something. A time LADY in fact (yes, that's the canon name for them >< time empress or time dominatrix would be better :P). But the only canon time lady we have is Jenny...ooOOoo....

Riversong died because she LOVED the doctor, and I think the doctor let/made her love him to save his own life. How's that for selfishness? Lol. And the only way he could justify that is to let her live in her own little world forever. I love how no one really REALLY touches the Doctor, except for Rose, and he distances himself from her by giving her HIMSELF but not himself ;) Well, the master touches him too (dies to spite him, doctor can't control it and he's a control FREAK) and his daughter (who will come back no doubt...there's some future season material I want to see!).

I think what the doctor did with Donna shows him developing, finally letting someone he loves 'die' as such. But yeah, totally a backstep to protect himself...he doesn't actually let her DIE...he writes her off and distances himself from her.

And yeah, True Blood is with Anna Paquin. :D It's like Twilight with all the hot sex!! Srsly!! Someone might be able to turn into a dog >
