These games are giving me a lot of sad.

First Grant Hackett misses out on gold by <----> this much (not to scale). Watching the men's gymnastics currently is so painful, because everyone keeps falling. And now Liu Xiang pulls out of his race.

The women are doing awesome though. How fantastic was the triathlon? :D :D :D

If this games has taught me anything, then it has taught me that Australian sportswomen don't get half the cred they deserve.

Seriously, right? They are kicking ass. Though I think in the future the whole not being recognised thing may change, especially in swimming, with Grant's retirement and Ian's... gone-ness, there really aren't a lot of male swimmers left that people can identify with.

I don't know about that. I am pretty pessimistic about Australia's misogyny when it comes to sports. Though, they have been showing some Netball results on commercial TV news this year. That was a happy surprise.

It's kinda sad when the gymnasts stack their landing, cos that screws it up for them. But I LOVE watching gymnastics nonetheless.
